Happy birthday KEMP!
Join a fun filled day on Saturday 25th June in King Edward Memorial Park (KEMP) from 12pm – 5pm.“’Shaddy Park’ will be rocking, when the whole community joins together to celebrate our glorious park’s birthday!” says Toni Davey, SaveKEMP’s Community Liaison Officer.
The much loved and used park was dedicated to the people of East London in memory of King Edward VII in June 1922 but is under threat from Thames Water.
“Our local businesses have really pulled out the stops and made generous donations to our tombola prizes, including dinner for two at the River View Restaurant, Wapping Vineyard have donated a bottle of house wine and a platter for two, the Laundry Box have given a voucher for free dry cleaning, and our star prize is a hand help computer donated by a very generous supporter. Gastronomica, Tech World, 44 Frocks and the Wapping Project have also been very generous,” said Toni Davey.
